Jamorama Review Part 4

Anyway, I digress… where was I?

Ah yes, there’s some other bonus software with the Jamorama package that I need to tell you about.

Jayde Musica is the other program, which helps you learn notes or something. I didn’t look into this too much to be honest with you. I was too excited by GuitarEarIt. But if learning notes is what gets you going, I’m sure you’ll find this useful. (Learning to read music is worth doing, by the way. Despite how I sometimes talk about it. Especially if you want to get into session work).

There’s also some bonus books with the package. One of them is called “Advanced Learning Techniques for Guitar”. This book I found VERY interesting. It basically details a method of learning guitar without needing one in your hands.

How? Through visualization.

It sounds pretty far out, but it’s a solid, scientifically proven concept. (Perfect for wasting away time in school when you should be working - but hey, you didn’t hear that from me, OK?)

Although I never used this when I was learning to play as a youngster, I have often worked out melodies in my mind, and visualised where to find them on the fretboard. (And I hear Hendrix did a lot of visualizing stuff when he was in his prime… or is that something different?)
